Mustangs tee off today in ACCC Division II Women’s Golf Championships
Two-day tournament being held at Juniper Creek in Brewton
The Northeast Alabama Community College women's golf team is set to tee off in pursuit of conference championships.
The Mustangs compete today and Tuesday in the 2026 Alabama Community College Conference Division II Women's Golf Championships at Juniper Creek Golf course in Brewton.
Playing for NACC, which is ranked No. 22 in the latest National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Women's Golf Rankings released Thursday, are sophomores Taylor Bishop and Angel Fulks and freshmen Jillian Lyness and Gracie Sullivan.
Bishop is the first Mustang on the tee box today, starting her round at 9:28 a.m. Lyness tees off at 9:36 a.m., followed by Sullivan at 9:44 a.m. and Fulks at 9:52 a.m.
NACC head coach Jabo Moore said Northeast golfers have experience with the course.
"We played it in the fall. It will play somewhat differently, but we know (the course layout)," he said of Juniper Creekm which is a par 72 course.
Moore said the key for NACC during the two-round tournament is consistency.
"If we are consistent around the greens, chipping and putting," Moore said, "I think we could put up some good numbers."
NACC is coming off its best finish, closing the regular season with a seventh-place finish in the Calhoun Spring Classic.
